Verifying and configuring the VLAN setting on your phone

If you get a URL error on your VoIP phone after bootup, you need to verify the VLAN setting. It’s a good idea to do this when you set up your phone at a new location, such as taking your phone from (or back to) your office.

To verify the VLAN setting of your VoIP phone:

  1. Press MENU. (Depending on your phone, this will either be a button or a soft key.)

  2. Select Settings (press 3).

  3. Select Advanced (press 2).

  4. For the password, type 456 or 235711, then press ENTER.

  5. Select Admin Settings (press 1).

  6. Select Network Configuration (press 1).

  7. Use the arrow keys to highlight the .... (next to Ethernet), then press SELECT.

  8. Use the arrow keys to highlight the .... (next to VLAN) and press SELECT.

  9. Press EDIT, then type the VLAN ID:

    • If you're using the phone in the office, type 10.

    • If you're using the phone at home,  remove the VLAN ID.

  10. Press OK, press BACK, then press BACK again.

  11. To save the new configuration, press SELECT.

  12. Press BACK.

  13. To reboot your phone, press 3, then press YES.

Important: When you take your phone off the Lumen network, Lumen service level agreements, quality of service (QoS), and the ability to connect to the VoIP platform are not supported. Troubleshooting is limited to providing phone and router/firewall settings.
