Switched batch overview
When you need to process a large volume of orders in a single day, you can use the Switched batch formatter tool to create a batch file to upload your orders to Lumen in a file transmission.
To create a batch files:
- Data can be entered directly into the online tool
- Switched batch ordering template* can be used in a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel, then uploaded to the web‑based Switched batch formatter tool
The Switched batch formatter tool is then used to validate and save the data. The Save action will format the file as needed for processing.
*Switched batch ordering template is located in Lumen Connect by navigating to Manage Orders, Batch, then selecting Ordering Type as Switched.
Switched batch formatter tips:
- The Switched batch formatter tool supports approximately 2,000 rows of data. Larger files can be created if need be.
- The formatted batch files can be uploaded to Lumen Connect by navigating to Orders, Manage Orders, Batch, then selecting Ordering Type as Switched.
- The results files are available in Lumen Connect by navigating to Orders, Order Status, Preliminary Order Status.
