Creating a route plan for a SIP Trunking service
For a Lumen® SIP Trunking service, a route plan consists of one or more trunks and it controls how Lumen delivers calls to those trunks (known as inbound traffic). You control your outbound traffic by how your configuration and equipment points to our trunks using Lumen Connect. To manage your outbound traffic, create new plans for one or more of your enterprise trunks. You can also add descriptions to your route plans to make it easier to differentiate them. After you create a route plan, you can update it (e.g., to change the hunt sequence or the percent allocation) or delete it if you no longer need it.
To create a route plan for a SIP Trunking service:
- In the Services widget on the dashboard, select IQ Networking from the Find by Product or Service Tool list.
Lumen Connect shows all IQ Networking services on the enterprise ID. SIP Trunking services have a service ID starting with VO-.
- Search for the service you want to work with. When you find the service you want to work with, click the hyperlinked service ID or click the icon (in the Actions column), then click View Details.
Lumen Connect shows details for the SIP Trunking service you selected.
- Click the Route Plan Management tab.
Lumen Connect shows the route plan(s) for the service.
- From the Select Action list, select Create Route Plan, then click Go.
- Fill in the information for the route plan:
- From the Route Plan Type list, select whether you want a TN‑ or DID‑based route plan.
- From the Hunt Type, select whether you want a sequential or percentage‑based route plan.
- In the Route Plan Description field, type a description for the route plan.
- From the Route Plan Type list, select whether you want a TN‑ or DID‑based route plan.
- Click Submit.
Lumen Connect creates the route plan. Now, you add a trunk group(s) to the route plan.
- From the Select Action list, select Add Trunk Group, then click Go.
- Select the checkbox next to the trunk group(s) you want to add to the route plan, then click Submit.
Lumen Connect adds the trunk groups to the route plan. Now, you adjust the order of the trunk groups (for a sequential hunt) or assign percentages to the trunk groups (for percent allocation hunt).
- Do one of the following:
- For a sequential route plan, place the trunk groups in the order you want by selecting a trunk group and using the Move Up and Move Down buttons to adjust the order.
- For a percent allocation route plan, type the percentage of calls you want to assign to each of the trunk groups you added to the route plan. (Your total must add up to 100%.)
- For a sequential route plan, place the trunk groups in the order you want by selecting a trunk group and using the Move Up and Move Down buttons to adjust the order.
- When you're done, click Submit.
