Customizing the calling area for a phone number
For phone numbers on a Lumen® SIP Trunking service, you can customize the allowed calling area by phone number in Lumen Connect. For example, you can block all outbound calls for a number except to local numbers or you can allow long‑distance calls, but not international calls. This helps you control the numbers a user assigned to the number can call.
To customizing the calling area for a phone number:
- In the Services widget on the dashboard, select IQ Networking from the Find by Product or Service Tool list.
Lumen Connect shows all IQ Networking services on the enterprise ID. SIP Trunking services have a service ID starting with VO-.
- Search for the service you want to work with. When you find the service you want to work with, click the hyperlinked service ID or click the icon (in the Actions column), then click View Details.
Lumen Connect shows details for the SIP Trunking service you selected.
- Click the Telephone Number Management tab.
Lumen Connect shows the telephone number(s) for the service.
- Select the checkbox next to the phone number you want to edit.
- From the Select Action list, select Edit TNs Individually, then click Go.
Lumen Connect shows the calling area setting for the phone number.
- From the Blocked Calls menu, select the area(s) you want to block calls to for the phone number. (To remove blocks from a line, select the Nothing Blocked option.)
- Click Update.
Lumen Connect saves your changes to the calling area.
