Adding a phone number to a SIP Trunking service
Lumen® SIP Trunking service is set up based on the route plans from your original order. Using Lumen Connect, you can add a phone number to a SIP Trunking service. You can also update the phone number to assign a route plan, assign the phone number to a user, customize the calling area, etc. If you no longer need a phone number, you can disconnect it.
To add a phone number to a SIP Trunking service:
- In the Services widget on the dashboard, select IQ Networking from the Find by Product or Service Tool list.
Lumen Connect shows all IQ Networking services on the enterprise ID. SIP Trunking services have a service ID starting with VO-.
- Search for the service you want to work with. When you find the service you want to work with, click the hyperlinked service ID or click the icon (in the Actions column), then click View Details.
Lumen Connect shows details for the SIP Trunking service you selected.
- Click the Telephone Number Management tab.
Lumen Connect shows the telephone number(s) for the service.
- From the Select Action list, select Add New TN(s), then click Go.
- Select the Selected Location, Find by Area Code, or Find by Address option.
- Click Get Available Number Blocks.
You can request up to 2,000 phone numbers at a time. The phone numbers can be in any rate center (not just in the location's rate center).
- For each area code listed, type the number of phone numbers you want to add, then click Submit.
Lumen Connect shows a message confirming your order and provides an order number. You can check the status of your order.
