Adding storage to hosts or virtual machines
Use the Dedicated Cloud Compute (DCC) portal to add storage to your hosts or virtual machines for your organization for Lumen® Dedicated Cloud Compute. Selections are based on the cluster configured for utility storage. You configure storage, then choose the storage type and amount. After you configure the storage, you can estimate the cost of the configuration and save the order. When you save your order, you can view and modify details and change settings in the order in the Saved Orders section of the portal.
Note: To access the Dedicated Cloud Compute portal, you must have a username and password for Managed Services portal.
To add storage to a host or virtual machine:
- Sign in to the Managed Services portal.
- Using the left navigation, click Create, then click Add Storage.
- To select options for your storage configuration, complete the following:
- The order name is automatically generated.
- Select a data center where you want the server.
- Select a cluster for the server.
- Select a billing account number (ban) you want to associate with the server.
- Select one of the following performance levels for your storage type configured for utility storage. Block storage selections show as offered quality of service (QOS) levels with varied RAID (redundant array of independent disks) protection.
- For storage best for application with writing-intensive requests; RAID 10 (mirrored) that has high redundancy mirrored across multiple drives, select Add QOS1.
- For storage best for application with read-intensive requests; RAID 50 (3D + 1P) where data is striped across three drives and information is stored on a parity drive, select Add QOS2.
- For storage best for I/O intensive applications; RAID 50 (7D + 1P) where data is striped across seven drives and information is stored on a parity drive, select Add QOS3.
- Select the storage amount (in gigabytes) .
- The order name is automatically generated.
- When you finish your configuration, do the following:
- To view the estimated install cost and monthly cost of the configuration, verify your information is correct, then click Estimate Cost.
- To save your configuration as an order, click SAVE ORDER. Click RESET to clear the form and begin a new configuration.
- To view the estimated install cost and monthly cost of the configuration, verify your information is correct, then click Estimate Cost.
