Adding a user to another enterprise
If you have an existing user who needs access to another enterprise in Lumen Connect®, you can add them to another enterprise so they can toggle between enterprises rather than signing in and out using different usernames. You can also make a user a system administrator so they can access everything for that enterprise.
Users can have different permissions for each enterprise they have access to. For example, you can be a user on three enterprises and a system administrator on a fourth enterprise.
There are three steps to add a user to another enterprise:
Step 1: System administrator sends a request for the user to join
To start the process of adding the user to another enterprise, a system administator for that enterprise signs in to Lumen Connect and requests the user join the enterprise.
- Using the left menu, click Admin, then click Users.
Lumen Connect lists the users for your organization. For each user, Lumen Connect shows whether the user is a system administrator, what two-factor authentication (2FA) method is set for the user, when the user last signed in, and the user's status: Active, Pending, or Inactive.
- Click Create / Add User.
- In the window that appears, click the Add an Existing User tile, type the username and email address for the user, then click Continue.
Lumen Connect sends a request to the user to join the enterprise. (You won't see the user listed in the list of users until the user accepts your request to join.)
- Contact the user to let them know they should see the request next time they sign in.
Step 2: User accepts the request
Once the system administrator requests the user join the enterprise, the user signs in to Lumen Connect and accepts the request.
Lumen Connect shows a number badge next to the enterprise ID (in the upper-right corner) and on the Admin tab of the left navigation.
- To accept the request to join the enterprise, do either of the following:
- In the upper-right corner, click the enterprise ID, then click Accept next to the new enterprise ID.
- Using the left navigation, click Admin, then click Enterprises. Then, in the Pending Enterprise Invitations section, click Accept on the row for the enterprise.
- In the upper-right corner, click the enterprise ID, then click Accept next to the new enterprise ID.
Lumen Connect changes the status of the username in Pending status so the system administrator can assign accounts and permissions for the user on that enterprise.
Step 3: System administrator adds accounts and permissions for that enterprise
After the user accepts the request to join the system administrator will then see the user listed in the list of users for the enterprise. The system administrator can then assign accounts and permissions for the user so they can complete tasks in Lumen Connect under the enterprise. Remember, you can assign different permissions to a user for each enterprise they're assigned to.
